Spring is coming and our development team is currently in preparation regarding the 7.12 version’s progress. In the meantime, the 7.11 version has been finalized. It is an intermediate version for which the main focus was put on the improvement of certain modules instead of the development of new features. We alternate between our versions’ priorities in order to maintain our product’s quality.

In addition to these preparations, we also focus on the continuous improvement of all the other Sirius products.

For those still using the Pro version, we would like to invite you to switch to Abak 360’s latest version, Enterprise-Web. The differences are numerous regarding the interface, the features and the navigation. We are currently offering very interesting pricing conditions. These conditions also apply to clients with the Enterprise version who would also want the Web module. Do not hesitate to contact us for more information.

New version - Abak 7.11

The 7.11 version of Abak is now available on our extranet. We invite you to send an email to to plan the upgrade of your Abak environment to the 7.11 version.

*** Important note regarding the requirements for the 7.11 version ***

The software is no longer supported on Windows Server 2003. Furthermore, we no longer support the version 2005 of Microsoft SQL Server.

Before planning the installation of the new version, we invite you to read our prerequisites document to ensure that your environment complies with version 7.11. This document is available on our extranet.

The installation of version 7.11 on our hosting servers is underway. You will be notified by email a few days prior to the installation date.

AbakWeb – Invoicing with Google Chrome

In the upcoming 7.12 version of Abak, incompatibility issues that exist between billing in AbakWeb and Google Chrome will be fixed.

To those who had to stop using Google Chrome due to these incompatibility issues, please note that Google Chrome will be functional again.

Training – the pro’s trick!


Abak recently added a powerful tool to update project budget and assignment information in Batch.

What exactly is a batch operation process? It is a simple feature that allows you to change the budget information and the resource allocation on several projects at once.

This feature is very useful if you need, for example, to increase the hourly billable rate of several employees on several different projects. Instead of browsing each project individually, this can be done simultaneously via the new batch operating tool.

It is important to know that in the past, it was necessary to use Excel import files in order to do this kind of operation on several projects at once.

The clients benefiting from Abak’s 7.10 version and the next can now try this new feature which allows them to save time.

Rules regarding Abak’s time banks

Many of our clients have questions regarding the way we use their Abak time banks. Here are the rules we apply:

Abak Software Inc. offers time banks to his clients that can and will be used in the following case:

How do we manage time banks?

- Phone calls with a trainer;
- The time used by a trainer to read and reply to an email or other forms of written communications;
- When a trainer has to wait for the client (for example, let’s say you have a training session schedule for 3 of your employees and the trainer has to wait because
  one (1) of the employee is running late);
- If a custom report or invoice format has to be developed, any time spent for the analysis and/or communication on technical specifications with the development
  team will be charged;
- The time used by the Abak Software Inc. team for testing custom report and invoice format.

What happens if you exceed your time bank?

When your time bank shows a negative amount (by exceeding the amount purchased), Abak Software Inc. has the right to stop replying to inquiries until your time bank is renewed.
